We collect personal information directly from you; automatically through our website, course platform, cookies and similar technologies where enabled; and from service providers that help us process payments, host and deliver courses, send communications, provide customer support, analyse performance or secure our systems.
4. Why we use personal information
We may use personal information to:

5. Lawful grounds for processing
Where POPIA applies, we process personal information on a lawful basis, including where processing is necessary to perform or prepare a contract with you, comply with a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate interest that does not unjustifiably prejudice your rights, or where you have consented. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
6. Payments and refunds
Payment providers process payments under their own privacy terms. BoldMe retains transaction information reasonably necessary to confirm payment, provide access, administer a valid refund request and keep financial records. The EARN™ refund terms are set out in BoldMe’s Terms & Conditions.
7. Marketing communications
Where required, we will send marketing communications only with your consent or another lawful basis. You may unsubscribe using the link in an email or by contacting info@boldme.co.za. We may keep a minimal suppression record so that your choice is respected.

Our website and service providers may use necessary cookies for core functions, security and course access, and optional cookies for analytics or marketing where enabled. Where required by law, non-essential cookies will be used only after you have made a choice. You can restrict or delete cookies through your browser settings, although this may affect some functions.
9. When we share information
We may share personal information only where reasonably necessary with: Payfast, our payment gateway, which processes card and Instant EFT payments and payment confirmations on our behalf (card details are entered on Payfast’s secure pages and are never received or stored by us); website, course-hosting, authentication, email, analytics, security and support providers; professional advisers bound by confidentiality; authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law; and a successor organisation if our business or relevant assets are reorganised or transferred subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
10. International transfers
Some service providers may store or process personal information outside South Africa. Where POPIA applies and information is transferred across borders, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer meets applicable legal requirements and that appropriate protection is in place.
11. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including delivery of the course or service, support, financial and tax records, dispute resolution, fraud prevention and legal compliance. When information is no longer required or authorised to be retained, we will delete, destroy or de-identify it as appropriate.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No internet-based system is completely secure. If a security compromise affects personal information, we will investigate and make notifications required by applicable law.
13. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you; request access; request correction or updating; request deletion or destruction where permitted; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; unsubscribe from direct marketing; and lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.
